Karen C. Joynt

Karen C. Joynt was appointed to serve as a Judge in the Los Angeles County Superior Court by Governor Gavin Newsom in October 2024. Prior to her appointment, she served as a Commissioner at the same court starting in 2022. From 2019 to 2022, she was the Owner and Lead Attorney at Joynt Law. Her extensive career in public service includes various roles at the Office of the Los Angeles County Counsel from 2010 to 2019, the Los Angeles County Alternate Public Defender's Office from 2006 to 2010, and the Los Angeles County Public Defender's Office from 2003 to 2006. She earned her Juris Doctor degree from Southwestern Law School.
