Karen (Stratton) Kellums grew up in Deer Park and is a graduate of Deer Park High School, class of 1986. She attended Raymond Walters UC for business classes. All three of her children attended Deer Park Schools, and her grandchildren are current or future students. She is the owner of Black Barn Primitives, which opened in Deer Park in 2005. Kellums has previously worked for the city as a crossing guard and volunteers at the high school for sporting events. She has also served on the Deer Park Park Board and is a member of the Deer Park Business Association.
