She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her law degree from Campbell University. Her career began in the Durham County District Attorney's Office before she joined the Buncombe County office in 2018. Kurdys oversees the violent-crimes unit and has prosecuted numerous high-level felonies, including murder, rape, and human trafficking. She also previously worked as a civil defense attorney contractor.
