A U.S. Air Force veteran, serving from 1988 to 1996 and participating in Operation Desert Storm, he holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Thompson's career experience includes working in small business development, government affairs, and previously serving as a Mesa City Councilmember from 2015 to 2023.
