Kimberly Owens is an attorney who has lived in Charlotte for over 30 years. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and French Studies from Northwestern University and a Juris Doctor with honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1994. Her legal career includes working with Fortune 100 companies, as well as domestic and foreign regulators. Owens has significant civic involvement, including chairing the boards of RAIN and The Havens, organizations that provide solutions to housing instability. She has also defended students in expulsion hearings, filed domestic violence protective orders with Legal Aid, and mentored students with the Charlotte Legal Diversity Program.
