Kristian Grant is the incumbent Representative for Michigan's 82nd House District. Born and raised in Grand Rapids, she is the first Black woman elected to a state legislative seat from Kent County. She earned a BA in Social Relations and Policy from Michigan State University. Outside of the legislature, Grant owns a small-scale real estate development firm. She previously served six years on the Grand Rapids Public Schools board and has been deeply involved in local community development initiatives.
