Kwame Jamal Kenyatta-Bey is an elected at-large member of the Baltimore City Board of School Commissioners in Maryland. As a nonpartisan candidate, he won the general election in November 2022, becoming one of the first elected members on the historically appointed board. Previously, Kenyatta-Bey worked as an ESOL U.S. history teacher at Patterson High School in Baltimore. His professional background also includes experience as a theatrical director, production manager, and actor. As a board member, he has advocated for increasing arts education funding, revamping classroom instruction, and supporting virtual learning options for students.
