Laura Friedman is the incumbent Representative for California's 30th congressional district, having assumed office in January 2025. Prior to serving in Congress, she was a member of the California State Assembly from 2016 to 2024. She also served on the Glendale City Council from 2009 to 2016, including a term as Mayor of Glendale. Before her political career, Friedman worked as a film and television producer. She received her B.A. from the University of Rochester in New York and has lived in California for over three decades.
