Laura Hall, born January 25, 1943, in Sandy Springs, South Carolina, is a Democratic politician and retired educator. She holds degrees from Morris College, Ohio State University, and Alabama A&M University. Elected in August 1993 through a special election, Hall was the first African American woman to represent Alabama House District 19, a position she has held continuously. She serves as Vice-chair of the Madison County Legislative Delegation and is a Ranking Minority Member on the General Fund Finance and Appropriations and Internal Affairs committees. Hall also chairs the Alabama Women’s Tribute Statue Commission, which plans to honor Rosa Parks and Helen Keller at the State Capitol. She is running for re-election to the Alabama House of Representatives District 19 in the 2026 Primary.
