Leslie Boghosian Murphy is a long-time resident of the district and a third-generation New Yorker. She is the granddaughter of immigrants who fled the Armenian genocide. For over 20 years, she worked as an Emmy award-winning investigative journalist for outlets including CNN. She has been actively involved in her community, serving on local precinct councils, the Hudson River Park Trust Advisory Council, and was elected Chair of Community Board 4. She previously ran for New York City Council in 2021.
