Luther D. (Lew) Starling, Jr. is a lifelong resident of Clinton, North Carolina. He graduated from Campbell University in 1987 with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and earned his Juris Doctor from Wake Forest University School of Law in 1990. He is the managing partner for the law firm of Daughtry, Woodard, Lawrence & Starling. Starling has served as the Mayor of Clinton since 2001. He also serves as general counsel for Sampson Regional Medical Center and is a member of the Campbell University Board of Trustees. He has previously served as Chairman of the Sampson County Republican Party.
