He is the managing partner for the law firm of Daughtry, Woodard, Lawrence & Starling. Starling has served as the Mayor of Clinton since 2001. He also serves as general counsel for Sampson Regional Medical Center and is a member of the Campbell University Board of Trustees. He has previously served as Chairman of the Sampson County Republican Party.
