Mai Xiong is the incumbent Representative for Michigan House District 13, having assumed office in April 2024. She is the first Hmong American to serve in the Michigan Legislature. Previously, Xiong served as a member of the Macomb County Board of Commissioners from 2021 to 2024. Born in a refugee camp in Thailand, she immigrated to the United States as a child. Xiong earned a BFA from the College for Creative Studies and an MBA from Western Governors University.
