Makhia N. Polk is a Democratic candidate for the Democratic Central Committee in Legislative District 32. A first-generation college graduate from Anne Arundel County, she is an emerging leader and advocate for equity and justice. Polk earned her B.S. in Criminal Justice from Stevenson University and is currently pursuing a Master of Public Administration at American University with a focus on Race, Policy, and Applied Politics. She serves as a legislative fellow at the Maryland General Assembly and has experience working with U.S. Senator Lisa Blunt Rochester, the Maryland Attorney General's Office, and The Sentencing Project, where she advanced youth justice and national policy initiatives.
