Mark Bell

Mark Bell is the incumbent Mayor of Hillsborough, having been elected after serving two terms as a Town Commissioner from 2015 to 2023. He also served as Mayor Pro Tempore for two years. Bell is a healthcare technology professional with over 35 years of experience, currently working as the vice president of business development for Bamboo Health. Previously, he was the chief information officer at the N.C. Hospital Association for 20 years. He has authored or co-authored over a dozen technology books and served for eight years in the U.S. Naval Reserve. A resident of Orange County since 1993 and Hillsborough since 2005, his civic involvement includes serving on the Hillsborough Parks and Recreation Board, the Water and Sewer Advisory Committee, and the Historic District Commission.
