Mark Newton is an Incumbent Republican State Representative for Georgia's District 127, having been sworn into office on January 9, 2017. He serves as Chairman of the Appropriations: Higher Education Subcommittee and is a member of multiple other committees, including Health and Ways & Means. His legislative focus has included sponsoring bills related to income tax changes, the regulation of psychedelic-assisted treatment, and establishing a House Study Committee on Pharmacy Benefits Managers. He has voted in favor of measures promoting government transparency and designating Fentanyl and Opioid Awareness Day.
