Mark Newton

Mark Newton is an Incumbent Republican State Representative for Georgia's District 127, having been sworn into office on January 9, 2017. He serves as Chairman of the Appropriations: Higher Education Subcommittee and is a member of multiple other committees, including Health and Ways & Means. His legislative focus has included sponsoring bills related to income tax changes, the regulation of psychedelic-assisted treatment, and establishing a House Study Committee on Pharmacy Benefits Managers. He has voted in favor of measures promoting government transparency and designating Fentanyl and Opioid Awareness Day. Newton, who currently lives in Augusta, is seeking re-election in the 2026 Georgia Primary Election.
