Mark Cummings is a criminal justice attorney who was born and raised in Greensboro. He is a graduate of James B. Dudley High School, the University of the South, Sewanee, and Campbell University for law school. He previously served as a Guilford County District Court judge, elected in 2016. He resigned from the court in December 2019 following a misconduct investigation, though he has denied any wrongdoing. Cummings also ran for mayor in 2022.
