Marni von Wilpert is an attorney and a member of the San Diego City Council, representing District 5 since 2020. Before her election to the city council, she worked as a civil prosecutor in the San Diego City Attorney's Office and as an associate labor counsel at the Economic Policy Institute. Earlier in her career, she founded a legal clinic in Mississippi and served in the Peace Corps. She is running for the U.S. House of Representatives in California's 48th Congressional District.
