Mary B. Boren is an incumbent Democratic State Senator representing District 16 in the Oklahoma State Senate. A native of Norman, Oklahoma, she earned a bachelor's degree from Cameron University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Oklahoma. Senator Boren assumed office in November 2018 and has since served on key committees including Appropriations Subcommittee on Education, Agriculture and Wildlife, Energy, and Judiciary. Her advocacy for higher education was recognized with the 2019 Distinguished Service Award. She recently secured re-election for the 2026 term outright, as the Democratic primary and general election were canceled, allowing her to win without appearing on the ballot. Her campaign, "Friends of Mary 2026," focuses on her continued work as a senator from Norman.
