Marikay Sanders Abuzuaiter has served on the Greensboro City Council as an At-Large member since 2011 and is the current Mayor Pro Tem. She is a former small business owner, having operated Mahi's Restaurant for 22 years. Abuzuaiter is a graduate of Greensboro College and also attended Maryville College in Tennessee. She serves as a liaison to numerous city and regional boards, including as Chair of the Piedmont Authority for Regional Transportation (PART) and Vice-Chair of the Piedmont Triad Regional Council.
