Matt Morgan

Matt Morgan, a Republican, has represented District 29A in St. Mary's County as a member of the Maryland House of Delegates since January 14, 2015. Born in La Plata, Maryland, on February 5, 1973, he graduated from Maurice J. McDonough High School. Before his election to public office, Morgan's professional background included roles as a computer technician, network analyst, and realtor. Within the legislature, he has been assigned to the Health and Government Operations Committee. He also served as the Assistant Minority Leader from 2019 to 2021 and became the inaugural chair of the Maryland House Freedom Caucus. His stated legislative priorities include fostering a competitive business climate, reforming healthcare, and protecting constitutional rights.
