Maurice Washington is a Republican candidate running for the U.S. House to represent South Carolina's 6th Congressional District in the 2026 election. Born and raised in Charleston, South Carolina, he earned a B.S. in Psychology from South Carolina State University. He previously served on the Charleston City Council from 1991 to 1999 and worked for about 30 years as an insurance and financial advisor. A conservative Republican, Washington supports lowering taxes, cutting government spending, and using targeted tax incentives.
