Michael Burrus is a lifelong resident of Wanchese, North Carolina, and his family history in the Outer Banks spans over 350 years. He is the youngest of five children born to Dickie and Conchita Burrus. He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Mount Olive and is self-employed, having worked in the flooring industry in sales and installation for most of his adult life. He began his service on the Dare County Board of Commissioners on December 2, 2024. His desire to serve stems from a passion for giving back to the community and advocating for residents.
