Michael Dougherty

Michael Dougherty is a lifelong public servant and career prosecutor with nearly three decades of experience, currently serving as Boulder County's three-time elected District Attorney. A community college and law school graduate, he previously served as Colorado's Deputy Attorney General and led the Sex Crimes Unit at the Manhattan District Attorney's Office. He is campaigning for Colorado Attorney General in 2026, committed to the mantra "Do Justice." His platform focuses on prosecuting violent crime, protecting consumers, defending rights, breaking up crime rings, and improving the justice system through reforms and community outreach. He also aims to protect Coloradans from fraud, abuse, and political intimidation, and advocates for constitutional protections through his "Know Your Rights" series.
