Michael "Mike" P. Ertel

Michael "Mike" P. Ertel is a Democratic candidate seeking re-election to the Baltimore County Council for District 6. First elected in 2022 and chosen as Council Chair in 2025, Mike has lived in Baltimore County for over three decades. A commercial insurance broker, he holds a degree from Towson University. Mike has a proven record of community advocacy, previously serving as President of the Towson Communities Alliance and spending eight years on the Community College of Baltimore County Board of Trustees. On the council, he prioritizes public safety, education, and the environment. Mike and his wife, Anne, live in Towson and have three children.
