His professional background includes over two decades as the owner of King Enterprise Group, a central Kansas construction company. He is an alumnus of John Brown University, where he earned a degree in building construction in 1981, and is originally from Hesston, Kansas. He continues to serve the state, recently involved in proposing constitutional amendments.
