Nikki Mcdonald

Nikki McDonald is an incumbent Democratic member of the Kansas House of Representatives, representing District 49, which includes southern Olathe and Overland Park. An educator and small business owner, she assumed office in December 2023 and is running for re-election in the 2026 primary. She is a strong advocate for mental health services, public school funding, and policies to decrease property and sales taxes. McDonald has introduced legislation to eliminate sales tax on hygiene products, strengthen DUI laws, address Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, and promote suicide prevention. Her re-election race is anticipated to be highly targeted.
