Oliver Ma grew up in Southern California in an immigrant family. He is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley and Harvard Law School. His legal career has been focused on fighting for working families, which includes representing tenants against landlords and defending immigrant families against ICE raids. He has worked as a legal fellow at the ACLU of Southern California, focusing on immigrant rights in Kern County. Ma is also the founder and former executive director of the Asian Youth Liberty League, a nonprofit organization that trains young Asian Americans in fighting for racial justice.
