Patrick E. Flaherty

Patrick E. Flaherty is a Republican candidate running for Calvert County Commissioner in District 1, Maryland. A small business owner and a resident of Lusby for fifteen years, Flaherty is committed to environmental stewardship and addressing local development issues. He previously sought a seat on the Calvert County Commission in the 2018 and 2022 primary elections. Most recently, in early 2026, Flaherty drew public attention to local environmental concerns by documenting and reporting a mass mortality event of marine life along the Calvert Cliffs shoreline to the Maryland Department of the Environment.
