Paul G. Zimmermann is a Republican serving as the Register of Wills for Carroll County, Maryland, an office he has held since 2002. Before his election, he built a legal career in local government, serving as an Assistant County Attorney for Carroll County from 1983 to 1989 and as a Senior Assistant County Attorney for Frederick County from 1994 to 2002. He also served as an attorney for the Maryland Department of Labor. Born in Kentucky, Zimmermann earned a B.A. from Lehigh University in 1975 and a J.D. from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 1981. He is also a co-founder of the FoolProof Improvisational Theater Troupe.
