Rafael Marte is an incumbent Bergen County Commissioner dedicated to public service. An immigrant from the Dominican Republic since 1974, he has lived in Bergenfield, New Jersey for over 30 years. Marte previously served two terms as a Bergenfield Councilman and worked as a social worker for nearly 30 years before retiring in 2019. He founded the Dominican Cultural Association of New Jersey to promote his heritage. Married to Natalia Herrera-Marte with four children and three grandchildren, he also studied architecture and economics. As Commissioner, he focuses on human services, public works, and information technology, committed to building a stronger future for Bergen County families.
