Incumbent Republican State Representative Randy Wood has served Alabama's House District 36, covering parts of Calhoun, St. Clair, and Talladega Counties, since 2002. Before his legislative career, he was a Calhoun County Commissioner and a Deputy Sheriff, also serving in the Alabama National Guard. Wood, who owns Wood’s Auto Body Shop in Anniston, advocates for fiscal responsibility, economic growth, strong schools, and support for veterans and law enforcement. He sits on key House committees including Economic Development and Tourism, Military and Veterans Affairs, and Rules. Wood is running for re-election in 2026 to ensure Alabama remains a great place to live and work.
