Rebecca Bauer-Kahan was first elected to the California State Assembly in 2018, representing District 16. She is an environmental attorney, community volunteer, and former law professor who taught appellate law at Santa Clara University and Golden Gate University. A Bay Area native, she is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and Georgetown University Law Center. In the Assembly, she has served as Chair of the Committee on Privacy and Consumer Protection.
