Renee Knapp is a Democratic member of the Frederick County Council, representing the county At-Large. Following her election in 2022, Knapp has focused on key local issues during her term on the council. She sponsored legislation aimed at creating a property tax credit for home-based daycare providers and co-chaired a county workgroup dedicated to studying data centers. Prior to her election, Knapp was deeply involved in local political organizations. She served on the Board of Directors for The Women's Democratic League of Frederick County and was a member of the Frederick County Democratic State Central Committee. Knapp was also a longtime volunteer with Frederick County Public Schools. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from Mount St. Mary's University.
