Rhonda Martin grew up on a farm in northwest Iowa and attended Iowa State University, earning a degree in landscape architecture. She has been a registered landscape architect for over 33 years and works at Iowa State University's Facilities, Planning and Management as a campus landscape architect and project manager. She has lived in Johnston, Iowa, for more than 21 years and was elected to the Johnston City Council in 2017. She previously ran for the Iowa State Senate in 2020.
