Rob Sand, born August 12, 1982, is an American lawyer and politician. A Democrat, he has served as Iowa's 33rd State Auditor since 2019, and was Assistant Attorney General prior. In 2022, he was the only Democrat elected to statewide office in Iowa. Sand is campaigning for Governor of Iowa in 2026, advocating for a focus on people over politics to build a better Iowa after a decade of one-party rule. His campaign has achieved record-breaking fundraising, securing over $9.6 million in 2026 with strong grassroots support from Iowans statewide.
