He assumed office in November 2022 and is currently running for re-election in 2026. Born in Selma, Alabama, in 1990, Stewart holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from Tuskegee University and a master's from Kennesaw State University. Beyond his legislative duties, he is employed as a tax policy lobbyist for Public Citizen. Stewart is actively involved in community initiatives, including 100 Black Men of America, Inc., and received the Outstanding Young Alumni of the Year award from the United Negro College Fund.
