Rocio Treminio-Lopez is a Democratic candidate for the Maryland House of Delegates in Legislative District 47A. An immigrant from El Salvador, she achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first Latina mayor in the state of Maryland. Her leadership in the Town of Brentwood began with an appointment as interim mayor in 2014, followed by a successful election to the office in 2015. During her tenure, Treminio-Lopez prioritized policies centered on community policing, fostering inclusion, and supporting small business development.
