A resident of Novi, Michigan, he has been active in local politics as an Oakland County Republican Party precinct delegate for Michigan's 6th Congressional District. Barranco has also served as an election worker for the city of Novi. He previously sought office in 2022 as a candidate for the Oakland County Board of Commissioners and in 2024 for the State House.
