Roy H. Alvey

Roy H. Alvey is a Republican candidate running for St. Mary's County Commissioner President in Maryland. A lifelong resident of the county, Alvey was raised on a family tobacco farm and graduated from Chopticon High School. He served in the U.S. Army with the 82nd Airborne Division until his honorable discharge in 1971. Afterward, Alvey spent 38 years in the telecommunications industry at Verizon, helping build the county's data infrastructure. Deeply involved in his community, he has served on the local Housing Authority, the Metropolitan Commission, and Public Schools Ethics Committee. Alvey and his wife, Rose, reside in Valley Lee.
