Rusty E. Sage

Rusty E. Sage is a lifelong Vermont resident, born at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital in 1975 and raised in Wilmington. He has been a volunteer firefighter in multiple Windham County towns for over 35 years and spent several years as a Brattleboro Town Meeting representative. In 1997 he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served six years on active duty with the 10th Mountain Division at Fort Drum, NY, deploying for 1998 ice storm relief and to Bosnia-Herzegovina in 1999 as part of Operation Joint Forge. After an honorable discharge he became a full-time firefighter with the Brattleboro Fire Department, serving until 2021 and attaining the rank of Lieutenant; he also spent several years as Chief of the Marlboro Volunteer Fire Company. He owns and operates his own landscaping business in Brattleboro.
