Samantha Mota is a community activist who previously served as a Commissioner on Santa Monica's Public Safety and Reform Oversight Commission. She has a background in environmental advocacy, working with Climate Action Santa Monica and promoting urban agriculture. In 2021, she received the Premio de Orgullo Award from the City of Santa Monica's Hispanic Heritage Month Committee. She attended Santa Monica College for political science and previously ran for Santa Monica City Council in 2022.
