Sarah Lightner is an incumbent member of the Michigan House of Representatives, representing District 45 since 2019. Prior to her election to the state legislature, she served as a Jackson County Commissioner from 2013 to 2018. Lightner built her professional career as a paralegal specializing in criminal defense and family law. Together with her husband, she also operates a small crop farm and custom hay baling business. She currently serves as chair of the House Judiciary Committee.
