Sarah Zabel

Sarah Zabel was born in Burbank, California, and is a retired U.S. Air Force Major General, having served 31 years from 1987 to 2018. She holds degrees from the U.S. Air Force Academy, University of Texas at San Antonio, and U.S. Army War College. Now residing in North Idaho, she is running as an independent for U.S. House in Idaho's 1st Congressional District in 2026. Zabel decided to run because she believes current decision-makers are disconnected from everyday people and that she can better represent Idahoans. She advocates for restoring Congress's constitutional role, promoting free markets, antitrust enforcement, and targeted action for healthcare reform, emphasizing the needs of rural Idaho.
