She holds degrees from the U.S. Air Force Academy, University of Texas at San Antonio, and U.S. Army War College. Now residing in North Idaho, she is running as an independent for U.S. House in Idaho's 1st Congressional District in 2026. Zabel decided to run because she believes current decision-makers are disconnected from everyday people and that she can better represent Idahoans.
