Scott Hyatt is the former Chief of Police for the Town of Lake Waccamaw, a position he was promoted to in 2003 after joining the department in 1999. He retired in June 2025 after 26 years in the role. Hyatt is a veteran of the U.S. Army, where he served as a Military Policeman. He holds an associate's degree in criminal justice technology from Southeastern Community College and a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice administration from the University of Mount Olive, which he completed in 2014.
