Scott Reilly is the current District Attorney for the 36th Prosecutorial District. His legal career began in 1989 as an Assistant District Attorney. In 1994, he opened a private law practice in Newton, focusing on criminal cases, where he handled thousands of cases and tried over 250 jury trials. He was first elected District Attorney in 2018. Reilly earned his undergraduate degree from Lenoir-Rhyne University and his law degree from Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan.
