Shanelle Jackson is a Democratic candidate for the U.S. House representing Michigan's 12th Congressional District in 2026. She previously served in the Michigan House of Representatives from 2007 to 2012, representing District 9 in Detroit. Elected at age 26, Jackson became the youngest African American woman to serve in the Michigan Legislature. She holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan-Dearborn and a master's degree from Marygrove College. She currently works at LyondellBasell.
