Shannan "Lady" Ighodaro is a former Miami Gardens City Councilwoman (Seat 3, November 2020–August 2024), educator, businesswoman, community advocate, author, wife, and mother. A Bahamian-American immigrant born in Nassau, Bahamas, she has lived in Senate District 34 for more than 30 years. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Florida Memorial University and an MBA from Nova Southeastern University, and is pursuing a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership at Voorhees University. She is the CEO of Oracle Public Relations and ran for Florida State Senate District 34 as a Democrat in the 2026 primary.
