Shannon Jarvis was born in Belhaven, NC, and raised primarily in the Bath area of Beaufort County. She earned a bachelor's degree from East Carolina University and then attended law school in Florida. After graduating and passing the North Carolina Bar exam in 2009, she worked in private practice, as an assistant public defender, and since 2018, as an Assistant District Attorney for Judicial District 2. In 2023, she became a Board-Certified Specialist in State Criminal Law. She lives in Washington, NC, with her husband and three children.
