Shavonne N. Hedgepeth is a Democratic candidate running for the U.S. House of Representatives in Maryland's 4th Congressional District. She advocates for community building and equitable access to information. Hedgepeth earned a bachelor's degree in History from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, and a master's degree in Library and Information Sciences from the University of Maryland, College Park. She is currently enrolled in an Executive Master's in Public Administration Program at Cornell University. Her public service experience includes serving on the board of a D.C.-based non-profit that mentors young women and acting as a student advisory member for a Montgomery County Councilmember. During her master's studies, she was a fellow at the National Agriculture Library.
