Sherita Walton is a seasoned attorney with over two decades of legal experience. She began her career in private practice at a New York law firm handling complex litigation and white-collar criminal defense. She served as an Assistant District Attorney in Manhattan for eight years and in Wake County for nearly five years, prosecuting a wide range of cases including homicides and serious assaults. Currently, she is a Senior Associate City Attorney, advising the Raleigh Police Department on constitutional policing and other legal matters. A first-generation college and law school graduate, Walton earned her undergraduate degree from Binghamton University and her law degree from Pace University. Originally from Brooklyn, New York, she moved to Wake County in 2016 with her family. If elected, she would be the first African American District Attorney in Wake County's history.
